Universal plans to launch new monster movie focusing on Dracula's loyal "fans"

It is reported that Universal Pictures will launch a new monster movie about the character "Renfield" related to the vampire Dracula.

Redfield has appeared in several Dracula-related movies, such as "Dracula" directed by the famous director Francis Ford Coppola in 1992. According to the setting of Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula", Redfield worships Dracula very much, is bloodthirsty, and wants to be immortal, but Dracula disdains him and only feeds him rats and insects.

It is said that this "Redfield" will be a light-hearted comedy directed by Dexter Fletcher ("Rocketman" ("Eddie the Eagle")).

It seems that Universal Pictures has not completely given up its "Dark Universe" plan. After the box office reputation of "The Mummy" in 2017 was stranded, subsequent related projects were once stagnant. The current progress is "The Invisible Man" directed by Leigh Whannell and starring Elizabeth Moss and Storm Reid, which is scheduled to be released on February 28, 2020. According to the original plan, "The Invisible Man" was supposed to be played by Johnny Depp.
