Kyoto Animation's global donations will not be used for reconstruction, but will be used for the families of the victims

According to Japanese lawmaker Shinichi Isa, Kyoto Animation will use all the donations from around the world after the fire to provide relief to the victims, injured employees, and the families of the victims. The donations will not be used to rebuild the business.

In addition, the company will not accept external assistance, but will stand up again on its own feet. So far, Kyoto Animation has received about 2.5 billion yen (170 million yuan) in global donations.

Shinichi Isa also revealed that a memorial event for fans will be held at the Kyoto City Kengyokan in Japan from November 3rd to 4th.

On July 18 this year, the famous Japanese animation production company Kyoto Animation suffered an arson attack. Among the 35 victims, 27 died of burns in the fire, 4 died of carbon monoxide poisoning, 2 died of suffocation, and one employee with severe burns died after failed rescue. Ikeda Akiko, the character designer of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" and "Sound Euphonium", was also among the victims.
