Martin: Game of Thrones Season 8 is not completely faithful to the original novel

When George R. R. Martin was recently asked about the differences between the eighth season of Game of Thrones and the novels, he spoke again, saying: "The final season is not completely faithful to the original, otherwise you would have to shoot five more seasons."

George R.R. Martin, the original author of Game of Thrones

Earlier this year, Martin discussed the differences between the novel and the show, saying: "Don't forget, I work in completely different environments with the two DBs. They're shooting eight hours of the final season, and I want the last two novels to be 3,000 pages of manuscript. If there are more pages, chapters, and content that needs to be written, I will write them. ... Which one is the true ending, the novel or the show? This question is stupid. It's like asking the heroine Scarlett O'Hara in the movie version of Gone with the Wind, how many children does she have?"

Although the final season of Season 8 has received bad reviews, there is no need to worry about it affecting the novel. Martin said that no matter how the fans react and comment, no matter whether their opinions are good or bad, it will not change his existing ideas about the ending of the novel.
