Chinese-American actress Gemma Chan may star in Marvel's "Eternals"

Another blockbuster in Marvel's fourth phase, "Eternals", will be released on November 6, 2020. There have been rumors that Keanu Reeves will join the film, but there has been no confirmation. Today (August 6), according to foreign media Variety, Chinese-British actress Gemma Chan is in talks to star in Marvel's new film "Eternals".

Previously, Gemma Chan played the blue-skinned Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel. It is not known whether she will play this role again or a new role in the new film Eternals. At the same time, Irish actor Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk, Chernobyl) is also in talks to star in Eternals.

Previously announced casts include Angelina Jolie, Ma Dong-seok (Train to Busan), Kumail Nanjiani (Uber Crisis), and Marvel President Kevin Feige is the producer. The Eternals were created by Jack Kirby in 1976. They are an ancient human race created by the Celestials 1 million years ago. They have the genetic potential to psychologically manipulate limited amounts of cosmic energy, as well as other superhuman characteristics.

"Eternals" tells the story of how millions of years ago, cosmic creatures called "Celestials" conducted genetic experiments on humans and created the "Eternals" and "Deviants" with superpowers. Jolie plays Sersi, a member of the Eternals, who will be the protagonist of the story.

"Eternals" is directed by Chinese-American female director Zhao Ting and will be released on November 6, 2020.
