The Witcher TV series season 1 takes place before Yennefer meets Geralt

Netflix recently released the first trailer of The Witcher TV series at the San Diego Comic-Con, and announced a lot of information about the show. For example, the show is adapted from the novel and is different from the game, and there are also background stories of Yennefer and Ciri. Now according to foreign media Comicbook, the story of the first season of The Witcher TV series takes place before Yennefer and Ciri meet Geralt.

Yennefer (played by Anya Chalotra)

Producer Lauren S. Hissrich said in an interview with Comicbook: "The Witcher TV series is based on the original work by Andrzej Sapkowski. What's really interesting is that we can expand the content of the original book. We spent a lot of time familiarizing ourselves with the original work and deepening the personalities of each character, especially Yennefer and Ciri, to make them come alive. Yennefer and Ciri may not appear before they meet Geralt, but through in-depth understanding, we have created fully formed characters before they appear."

Ciri (played by Freya Allan)

In the TV series "The Witcher", Anya Chalotra plays Yennefer and Freya Allan plays Ciri. The show tells a story of fate and family. Cavill plays Geralt, a professional monster hunter who is looking for his place in a world where people are more evil than beasts. But fate connects him with a powerful wizard and a little princess with a secret, and the three embark on a journey of exploration of the continent.

The TV series "The Witcher" will be broadcast online in the fourth quarter of 2019, with a total of 8 episodes in the first season.
