Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino: The reason why G: Restoration was remade was because it was criticized and difficult to understand

Recently, plans to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the birth of the "Mobile Suit Gundam" animation have been launched. One of them, "Mobile Suit Gundam G: Restoration", will also launch a highlight theatrical version, with Gundam's father Yoshiyuki Tomino as the chief director. Tomino Yoshiyuki talked about why G: Restoration had to be remade, because "the story was criticized for being difficult to understand."

"Mobile Suit Gundam G: Restoration" will launch a condensed theatrical version, which will refine the 26 episodes of the TV animation into 5 movies. It is scheduled to be broadcast this year, and the father of Gundam, Yoshiyuki Tomino, will serve as the chief director.

At the press conference, a reporter asked why they wanted to remake Mobile Suit Gundam G: Restoration. Tomino Yoshiyuki said: "Although the title of G: Restoration is Gundam, the actual content has nothing to do with Gundam, so it is often questioned and difficult to understand by audiences who like and are familiar with Gundam. This remake of G: Restoration will add more content that caters to fans on the basis of condensation, so please look forward to it."
