Deborah Snyder and Eric Newman, producers of Zack Snyder's latest masterpiece "Moon Rebels", said that when the film was initially withdrawn from the "Star Wars" universe, the team was actually very fortunate. Deborah said in a press release: "Once, this was a Star Wars movie, but I never wanted it to be like that. I remember saying to Zack: 'I feel like your hands will be tied very tightly to this IP, even if it (Moon Rebels) exists outside of it (Star Wars).' So I was actually glad when it fell through, because I always felt it was better this way. We have learned a lot from working with superheroes and creating these worlds over the years, and now we are going to do something completely original... We think this is a story that is more fantasy than science fiction, and it combines all the techniques that Zack has been honing and has done something in this area that looks very exciting." Newman added: “I remember [Zack] called me a while back, this was 15 years ago, and he said, ‘I’m thinking about doing Seven Jedi in the Star Wars universe.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s a great idea.’ … And then a few years later, he called me and said, ‘You know, I think this could be a TV show.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, go for it! ***** Star Wars! Let’s make it a TV show.’” However, the story was not made into a TV series, but into a two-part movie, each of which will have an extended version and an adult R-rated cut. The first part is titled "A Child of Fire" and the second part is titled "Scargiver". The first part of the film will be released on December 22 this year, and the second part is expected to be released on Netflix on April 19, 2024. The film revolves around a peaceful colony on the edge of space. When the residents here are attacked by a dictatorial army, Kora, played by Sofia Boutella, is chosen as a special envoy to go to the neighboring star for help. |
