The webmaster of "Manga Village" was arrested in the Philippines. It was once the largest pirate comic website in Japan.

According to the Philippines' ABS-CBN report today (9th), Romi Hoshino, the webmaster of Japan's largest pirate comics website "Mangamura" that once caused a stir, has been arrested by the Immigration Bureau and was previously wanted by Japan.

As we all know, Japan's iron-fisted Intellectual Property Office has always been extremely strict about ACG copyright issues. A website called "Manga Village" that specializes in pirated comics was previously exposed. After being reported by major Japanese media, the official website of Manga Village was eventually blocked. It is rumored that the website owner Hoshino ROMI has fled. Now it seems that he is hiding in the Philippines as netizens speculated.

"Manga Village" is a Japanese manga website that is highly illegal. Manga magazines and single volumes can be viewed for free, and visitors do not even need to log in. The resources on the website are uploaded without authorization. Moreover, after being reported by the media, "Manga Village" not only did not restrain itself, but also ridiculed everyone, "Thanks to everyone for the publicity, which has brought more traffic to the website." Later, "Manga Village" was renamed "Manga Town", once again challenging the authority of Japan's "intellectual property" masters.

However, the good days of Hoshino ROMI are over. What awaits him is a huge fine and imprisonment.

The latest news is that the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the news and is contacting the Philippines to discuss extradition.
