Saul Goodman may be able to help you get out of jail, but he apparently can’t win an Emmy. Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul has been nominated for 53 Emmys over the years, but has failed to win each one. Recent reports of the news have prompted an interesting reaction from the show’s writer and director. Tom Schnauz, the writer and director of several episodes of Better Call Saul, responded on social media to a Variety report about the show setting a "new record" for the number of nominations but no wins at the Emmy Awards. Instead of being too disappointed, he responded humorously to his record: "We did it!" The Variety report also added that lead actor Bob Odenkirk had been nominated for the award six times but had never been on the podium. The show aired on AMC for a total of 6 seasons, premiered in February 2015, and ended in August 2022. After the show ended, series creator Vince Gilligan said that he had no plans to return to the Breaking Bad universe. |
