Netflix's "Carmen the Thief" Chinese version trailer Carmen's Adventures

Netflix's "Carmen Sandiego" animated series reboot project released the first promotional video, showing us a completely different Carmen Sandiego than we remember.

Gina Rodriguez voices Carmen Sandiago in the new series, while Finn Wolfhard plays her assistant and friend "The Player." Carmen Sandia will premiere on January 18.

Carmen Sandia was originally an educational video game in which players tracked the thief Carmen around the world and learned geography. Although Carmen is the main villain in the game, she is not portrayed as a wicked villain. She usually steals works of art as a joke, and her motive for stealing is often just for the sake of excitement and fun. However, the reasons she gives herself are always changing. In her 20 years of games, novels, comics, and cartoons, her background is always changing. This Netflix reboot project will unify the background story and tell the story of Carmen Sandiago's youth and explore her origins.

Interestingly, the Carmen in the trailer doesn't look like the villain thief in the game at all. It seems that Carmen joined a secret society at a very young age to learn the skills of a criminal master, but she gave up this dream when she found that committing crimes could cause others to be injured or even killed. Instead, she became a thief's thief, specializing in stealing from criminals, stopping those who once trained her, and preventing innocent people from being hurt.

In 2018, Netflix rebooted the classic animated series "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power", which became the most popular new Netflix animation, so perhaps they plan to continue rebooting some classic cartoons to expand their advantage.
