DC has made a comeback! Aquaman becomes the first DC movie to break 1 billion in the mainland box office

According to the latest news from domestic media, the Warner and DC superhero blockbuster "Aquaman" directed by James Wan has been released in mainland China for a week, and its popularity continues unabated. The cumulative box office has also exceeded the 1 billion yuan mark, becoming the first work in Warner's DC movie universe to exceed the 1 billion yuan box office in the mainland market.

The mainland box office of previous DC movie universe films are: "Justice League" 690 million (2017), "Batman v Superman" 618 million (2016), "Wonder Woman" 610 million (2017), and "Man of Steel" 394 million (2013).

So far, the Warner Bros. movie with the strongest box office appeal in the mainland this year is Spielberg's "Ready Player One", with a cumulative box office of 1.397 billion yuan. It is only a matter of time before "Aquaman" surpasses this number. The film will be released in the North American market next Friday and will continue to make money during the Christmas season.
