Transformers is no longer a bad movie? Bumblebee has a 100% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes

The first reviews for Paramount's Transformers prequel, Bumblebee, are out! The film has a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and many critics call it "the best Transformers movie yet." It's been more than a decade since Michael Bay proved with the first Transformers in 2007 that the iconic Hasbro toy and cartoon could be transformed into a huge box office success. But the first film in the series seems to be the only one that has received good reviews.

The story of Bumblebee takes place in the 1980s, when the Transformers series was popular all over the world. From the beginning, fans hoped to see a film that was more similar to the tone of the original cartoon, with a solid story and reliable characters, rather than just bang, bang, bang, bang. According to the media reviews of Bumblebee, this film has achieved this.

Many critics compared Bumblebee to other Transformers films. Variety said Bumblebee was "the movie that fans of the 1980s cartoons have always wanted to see." They admitted that it was the sales of copies that brought Transformers to the big screen, but also pointed out that the previous Transformers movies were really lacking in substance. IGN called the film an "emotional journey" and praised director Travis Knight for his rich facial expressions of these CGI characters.

Other film critics also believe that Bumblebee is a very satisfying action movie that the whole family will enjoy. Regarding the script, The Hollywood Reporter said, "Bumblebee takes the Transformers series into a new, more character-based universe, and screenwriter Christina Hossen goes straight to the heart of the series. This is a journey for both Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) and Bumblebee as a child growing up and becoming an adult. It not only captures the essence of the first Transformers in 2007, but is also an excellent youth-oriented film."

In addition, the performances of Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Justin Theroux and Angela Bassett in the film have all been recognized by the media. In North America, Bumblebee will be released on the same day as Warner Bros.' Aquaman, on December 21. The confrontation between the two is bound to cause a box office war. Aquaman has been a big hit in mainland China, and has earned more than 660 million yuan at the time of writing. Will Bumblebee be so popular with Chinese audiences? We will find out on January 4 next year.

Variety: Selling copies and abdicating (not being a director but a producer),

Ushering in a quieter, more character-focused Transformers origin story.

Bumblebee goes back to its roots and is a refreshing addition/reboot to the Transformers franchise, attentive and self-aware.

IGN: Bumblebee is the best live-action Transformers movie since the first one in 2007.
