According to foreign media comicbook reports, the DC movie "Joker" has added two heavyweight characters from the comics, young Bruce Wayne and butler Alfred Pennyworth. Young Bruce Wayne will be played by child star Dante Pereira-Olson, who worked with Joaquin Phoenix in the 2017 film You Were Never Really Here, in which he played the young protagonist Joe, while Joaquin Phoenix played the adult Joe. Joaquin Phoenix plays the Joker in Joker, so the two will work together again. The butler Alfred is played by Douglas Hodge, who recently starred in Jennifer Lawrence's Red Sparrow and the fourth season of the British drama Black Mirror. "Joker" is set in the 1980s and tells the story of how the Joker embarks on his own path of madness and eventually grows into an iconic villain in DC comics. Since a young Bruce Wayne appears on the scene, it may be possible that the scene where the Waynes were shot by robbers will be reproduced in the movie. Of course, this is just speculation. "Joker" is directed by Todd Phillips and is scheduled to hit theaters on October 4, 2019. Stay tuned. |
