George RR Martin, the original author of Game of Thrones: Gandalf inspired me to "kill" everyone

According to foreign media reports, George RR Martin, the original author of "A Song of Ice and Fire", recently stated that the design of the main character's death was inspired by "The Lord of the Rings".

Who should the audience blame for the deaths of Ned Stark, Hodor, Shireen and others? I believe most people point the finger at George RR Martin, the original author of the series. However, the author of "A Song of Ice and Fire" now has something to say, because the plot arrangement was actually inspired by JRR Tolkien's work "The Lord of the Rings".

"It (The Lord of the Rings) was so immersive. It was like Tolkien was writing history," Martin said when recalling the series.

He also said: "And then, Gandalf died! I can't explain the impact this had on a 13-year-old boy. You can't kill Gandalf!"

Although Gandalf's death may cause uneasiness to a boy, it cannot be denied that it makes the whole story more exciting. Martin pointed out that Gandalf's death makes the suspense of everything that happens next a thousand times greater, because it means that any character could die. I believe that viewers who have watched the TV series "Game of Thrones" or the original "A Song of Ice and Fire" are already well aware of this.
