Star-Lord's new film "Viking Ninja Cowboy" announced to be withdrawn and postponed

The film industry is changing rapidly. Just two days ago, there was news that Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, who starred in "Baywatch", would co-star with "Star-Lord" in Universal's new comic book adaptation "Viking Ninja Cowboys", and pre-production would begin next month. According to foreign media Collider, Universal suddenly announced that the film was withdrawn and the release date was postponed indefinitely.

Michelle McLaren, the director of this film, has previously starred in some of the best American TV series - Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, whatever else you like to watch. She was going to make her directorial debut on the big screen with Viking Ninja Cowboy.

The film is adapted from a comic book by Image Comics, co-created by Andy Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo. After the film was withdrawn, Michel still retained the position of director, and Star-Lord is still the male lead. The killer he plays has the strongest skills of three different personalities at the same time - cowboy, ninja and Viking pirate.

Dan Mazouz (Wrath of the Titans) and Ryan Anger (The Commuter) previously adapted the latest version of the script for the film, while the original script was written by Craig Mazin together with Deadpool screenwriters Paul Wernick and Everett David Reese.

The film was originally scheduled to be released on June 28 next year, and was originally a key project for Universal. Just after the release date was agreed with the heroine Priyanka, the entire film was withdrawn. I don’t know what this operation is. But if Universal just wants to reorganize the country, delaying the film to ensure better quality is better than rushing to complete it in order to meet the release date (I don’t mean to mock "Justice League"). Collider said that although "Viking Ninja Cowboy" was postponed, the film is still in active operation, but we have to wait a little longer.

I don't know if Star-Lord has Mercury retrograde. He has very good resources, but the "Guardians of the Galaxy" series starring him has been in a lot of trouble recently because of the director Gunn's incident; "Jurassic World 2" sold very well, but its global box office was still $400 million less than the first one (1.2 billion for the second one, 1.6 billion for the first one); the credit for the success of "Avengers 3" is not his, and the previous one was "Passengers", but let's not talk about it... In addition to the "Jurassic" series and MCU movies, "Viking Ninja Cowboy" could have allowed Star-Lord to hold another big IP.

However, Star-Lord's future is still very bright. In addition to returning to "Jurassic World 3" and "The Lego Movie 2", he will also appear in Vincent D'Onofrio's new Western "Billy the Kid".
