Today (February 20), Deadline magazine reported that Amazon plans to start full production of the science fiction series "Blade Runner 2099" in April this year. Filming will take place in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, although it was originally planned to be filmed in Belfast, Ireland. However, the strike of the Writers Guild of America that began in May 2023 suspended filming. According to media reports, the first two episodes will be directed and produced by Jonathan Van Tulleken (Misfits, Ringleader). He replaced Jeremy Podeswa (Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones), who left the project due to scheduling conflicts. The show's creator is Silka Luisa (The Shining), and Ridley Scott and Michael Green are involved in the production of Blade Runner 2099. |
