'Mad Men' star Jon Hamm hopes to star in Marvel movie

Jon Hamm, the award-winning star of the TV series Mad Men, who recently returned to TV in Fargo Season 5, has been shying away from superhero movies for years.

In 2014, he was rumored to be Doctor Strange, but at the time he said he was not involved and thought it was "the right choice". But since then, he has been willing to play Mister Sinister in the canceled Gambit solo film, and there are rumors that he will appear in the New Mutants movie.

In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Hamm said he is not in a rush to star in an American comic book movie, but is still willing to join the Marvel Universe. He said: "I have been a fan of Marvel comics and all comics since I was in the single digits. I think there are at least a lot of stories that I am familiar with that are still waiting to be told."

He continued: "Hopefully, whatever their plans are, they can include me. But if not, I know there's a whole bunch of people who are ready to be a part of those stories. There's definitely a lot of stories that can be told in the X-Men universe. The same goes for characters like Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four. There's a lot of great stuff in there. But yeah, I hope I get the chance, too. Who knows?"

In fact, with Marvel Studios leaving Kang actor Jonathan Majors off the cast, it is rumored that Doctor Doom will be an important character and villain in the upcoming new phase of Marvel.
