Sony CEO praises "Mario Movie" and calls himself a 30-year old fan

Nintendo's "Super Mario Bros. Movie" has grossed $1 billion worldwide, and the film has also been liked by Sony's representative executive officer, chairman, president and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida, and judging from his comments, he is obviously a long-time fan of the Mario series.

At Sony's strategic meeting yesterday, Kenichiro Yoshida publicly stated that Nintendo's Mario is a great IP. He was obsessed with the series of games more than 30 years ago.

Yoshida Kenichiro also pointed out: "A cute IP can survive for 30, 50 or even 100 years. We hope to invest in this aspect to achieve sustainable growth."

Games on the PS platform are more oriented towards adults, and lack game characters like Mario that are suitable for players of all ages. Perhaps this is the main reason why Kenichiro Yoshida publicly proposed "Super Mario Bros. Movie" at the conference.

Since The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released in April, it has broken many records and is now available to watch on streaming platforms.
