True Detective series writer to write script for MCU's Blade

Marvel's "Blade" has added a new screenwriter.

According to foreign media reports, Nick Pizzolatto, who created the acclaimed series "True Detective", has now joined the MCU "Blade" reboot movie as a screenwriter. "Blade" star Mahershala Ali and Pizzolatto are now reunited. They had previously collaborated in the third season of "True Detective".

Pizzolatto will be writing from a script by Mike Starrburry, who was previously nominated for an Emmy for his series When They See Us. Pizzolatto has been writing for several weeks on Blade.

"Blade" was originally directed by Bassam Tariq, but due to creative differences, he left the crew, and then Starrbury and current director Yann Demange joined the crew. This setback caused the production plan of "Blade" to be suspended for a while. Now the film is scheduled to start shooting in late May and will be released on September 6, 2024.
