Rick and Morty creator fired from Adult Swim over domestic violence allegations

Adult Swim recently announced that it has terminated its partnership with Justin Roiland, one of the co-creators of the popular animation "Rick and Morty". Adult Swim did not disclose the specific reason for Roiland's dismissal. However, Roiland's recent domestic violence lawsuit, which has been widely reported, is definitely related to his dismissal.

Roland was charged in Orange County, California, with one felony count of domestic violence and one felony count of false imprisonment by means of threats, violence, fraud and/or deception. According to the felony complaint, the incident occurred around January 19, 2020, and the other party's name was not disclosed. At that time, it was Roland's date.

Roland refused to plead guilty in 2020, and the case recently went to court, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 13, 2023. The official trial date has not yet been announced, and he will attend another preliminary hearing on April 27.
