The movie version of True Moe King “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” has sold over 1 million tickets in Japan

The official website of the anime "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Crimson Lotus Kizuna" announced today (January 10) that the film has sold more than 1 million tickets and box office revenue has exceeded 1.33 billion yen.

The film was released in Japan on November 25th and ranked second in the opening weekend with 297 million yen and 225,000 tickets sold. It sold 313,000 tickets in its first three days for 416 million yen.

In the official website announcement, Fushigase, the author of the original light novel who also created a new original story for the film, said: "This is my first time to participate in the production of a movie, so it took a lot of time. But I am very pleased to see so many people watching it. As the original author, I am very grateful that you like it."

Taiki Kawakami, the author of the manga version, said: "I am really surprised by the amazing number of 1 million... I would like to thank everyone involved in the film version for completing a great work. Congratulations on the 1 million viewers. I will go to see it again."
