At the San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel did not release a trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Director James Gunn decided not to release the first trailer on site because he was not yet completely satisfied with the special effects. At the San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel showed the first official clip of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but it was only available to the audience in Hall H and did not appear on the Internet. Some fans expressed their disappointment on social media, to which Gunn responded and explained that he did not think the clip was ready for the public. Gunn explained that although he personally liked the trailer, he ultimately held back because the special effects required some fine-tuning before audiences could watch and scrutinize it again and again, so the current trailer still had a lot of work to do. According to viewers who have seen the trailer, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has seen some major cast changes, including Maria Bakalova playing the space dog Cosmo. The trailer also shows Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is part of the MCU's Phase 5 and is scheduled to be released on May 5, 2023. |
