Solo: A Star Wars Story didn't do well at the box office or critically, but it still has a loyal following among Star Wars fans. In a recent interview with NME, the film's director Ron Howard discussed the news about the sequel. Ron Howard said: "The only discussion I'm aware of right now about Solo is coming from fans. From what I've heard, I don't think it's a priority for Lucasfilm." In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy said that she learned through Solo that the worst thing to do in the Star Wars universe is to try to reshape a core character. “There’s a point in your life when you learn something,” she said in an interview. “It seems really clear now that we shouldn’t have done that.” However, Ron Howard still has some hope for a sequel. He said: "There are some great characters being introduced, and the people at Lucasfilm love the fans and really listen, so I won't say never (there will be a sequel). But I don't know of any specific plans to expand the story or deal with those specific characters right now." |
