DC wants Ben Affleck to direct a movie

After a series of tweets, James Gunn, the new president of DC Films, overturned the previous DC Universe (Zack Snyder Universe). While announcing the creation of a young version of "Superman" movie, Gunn also revealed that he had met with Ben Affleck to discuss the possibility of directing a DC movie.

James Gunn said yesterday that they have completed the DC Films plan and will announce the first details in early 2023. One of the projects is the young version of Superman movie announced yesterday, focusing on his early days as a reporter. In view of this, Henry Cavill, the previous Superman, will not return.

Although James Gunn will write the Superman movie script, he will not be directing. When asked if Ben Affleck (who played Batman in the DC movies of Zack Snyder's Universe) would direct, Gunn unexpectedly replied that he had met with Ben to discuss the possibility of directing a DC movie.

Gunn said: "I met with Ben yesterday because he wants to direct the movie, and we want him to direct it. We just need to find the right project."

In addition to acting and writing scripts, Ben Affleck is also a prolific director, having directed several films, including Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and Argo, which won the Oscar for Best Picture. Ben Affleck's films tend to focus on true crime themes and, of course, feature intense action scenes.
