"Black Panther 2" box office rose to 670 million, and the animated film "Strange World" performed poorly

Disney Marvel's Black Panther 2 continued its dominance at the global box office in its third weekend. With $32.1 million in overseas revenue outside the United States (-53%), the film's total overseas box office as of Sunday was $308 million, and its global box office was $675.6 million.

Black Panther 2's 308 million international box office has surpassed the final box office of the previous 15 Marvel movies. It is 5% lower than Black Panther 1, 6% lower than Thor: Love and Thunder, and 16% higher than The Batman.

After this weekend, Black Panther 2 will surpass Fantastic Beasts: The Mystery of Dumbledore to become the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2022, with international box office revenue expected to reach $415 million in the end.

The film's top five markets to date are the United Kingdom ($32.3 million), Mexico ($29.3 million), France ($25.2 million), Brazil ($16.2 million), and South Korea ($15.9 million). The global IMAX total is $43.5 million.

Another Disney film, the animated film "Strange World" earned $9.2 million in 43 overseas markets outside the United States, with a global total box office of $27.8 billion, including a five-day holiday in the United States.

The film is an original animation IP. Before the weekend, the film planned to have overseas market revenue of 25 million US dollars, but the final result was far from the goal.

The most popular market for Strange World was the United Kingdom, which brought in $1 million, followed by Spain, Mexico and Italy, each with $700,000, and Germany, which brought in $600,000. The film is expected to take in $40 million outside the United States.
