According to DEADLINE, Marvel Studios has now found two screenwriters for its new Fantastic Four movie, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. Old players of Overwatch may find the name Jeff Kaplan familiar. After all, players have seen the familiar face of "Brother-in-law" in every previous update video, not to mention that he once did a super long live broadcast on Christmas. It can be said that Jeff Kaplan has become the spokesperson for Overwatch. Unfortunately, this veteran of Blizzard left the company in April last year. However, this Jeff is not the "brother-in-law". This screenwriter, also named Jeff Kaplan, has directed the 2013 film "Bert & Ernie's Guide to Dating". Another director, Ian Springer, also participated in the script writing of the same film. The two screenwriters are still new to the industry and therefore not well-known. In addition, the two have the same name, which has caused a lot of confusion in the player community. According to DEADLINE’s sources, the two writers have been involved in the film’s production for some time, even before the previously announced signing of WandaVision TV series director Matt Shakman. What’s more, the duo has been working with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to help plan how the next series of movies will fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe MCU. The launch of the new Fantastic Four film will kick off Phase 6 of the MCU, which is now scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2024. It will be followed by two Avengers films, including Avengers: Reign of Kang on May 2, 2025, and Avengers: Secret Wars six months later (November 7, 2025). |
