The live-action movies of Alan Wake and Control are still “not even started”

Remedy previously announced in August that it would work with Annapurna Pictures to produce live-action film and television adaptations of Alan Wake and Control. Currently, Remedy director Sam Lake has revealed their progress, saying that for both companies, there is still "no clue at the beginning".

In an interview with IGN, Sam Lake said the team is "very excited" about the film and television adaptation projects, but they are still in the "very, very early stages."

He also revealed that Remedy has been studying the possibility of adapting the game into film and television works "for a long time". He said he was very satisfied with this cooperation: "Now with Annapurna, we have a perfect partner, and it feels like a real collaboration. Obviously, they bring their well-known expertise in the industry, and we bring our universe and our games."

Considering that Alan Wake 2 is heavily inspired by David Lynch's Twin Peaks series, Sam Lake was also asked if he would try to work with Lynch on the adaptation. He responded: "Wouldn't that be cool? But no. I mean, like I said, it's still early days and all we're doing is just exploring the potential of different projects and ideas within the universe. We'll see where it ends up going."

He said that although he had never met Lynch, he hoped that one day they could sit down together for a cup of coffee and discuss art.
