According to DEADLINE, Ryan Gosling is in talks with Warner Bros. to star in a new Ocean's Eleven reboot with Margot Robbie, which will be directed by four-time Emmy Award winner Jay Roach. The project is another collaboration between Gosling and Robbie after they worked together in the Barbie movie directed by Greta Gerwig, which is also under the Warner Bros. banner. The reboot of Ocean's Eleven will be written by Carrie Solomon and is said to be set in 1960s Europe, but no further details have been revealed. The project has not yet been approved internally and is still in "active production" as first reported in May. DEADLINE said there is news that Warner Bros. may officially start filming the work next spring. Filmmaker Steven Soderbergh launched the Ocean's saga in 2001 with a film based on the 1960s Rat Pack film of the same name. 2001's Ocean's Eleven starred a star-studded cast that included George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts. The film grossed over $450 million worldwide, and its success spawned two sequels, Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen, as well as 2018's all-female Ocean's Eight. |
