Although the Rotten Tomatoes freshness rating has dropped to 68% (popcorn index 83%, IMDb score 7.1), "Thor 4: Love and Thunder" still earned $29 million in North American advance screenings on Thursday, ranking second among the films released this year, second only to "Doctor Strange 2"'s $36 million.

Foreign media predict that "Thor 4" could reach 70 million US dollars on its first day on Friday, and its first weekend is expected to be between 130 million and 140 million US dollars.

Among the more than 20 MCU movies, the performance of "Thor 4" in Thursday's advance screenings was also remarkable, ranking only behind "Avengers 4" with $60 million, "Spider-Man: No Homecoming" with $50 million, "Avengers 3" with $39 million, and "Doctor Strange 2" with $36 million.

The film began showing early in 42 markets around the world on Wednesday, grossing $48.6 million in two days, 79% higher than "Top Gun 2" in the same period, 63% higher than "Jurassic World 3" in the same period, and 36% higher than "Thor 3" in the same period.
