A new job posting suggests Bungie may be developing a Destiny anime. The company is currently hiring for a "Senior Producer - Linear Media" position, which requires applicants to be in charge of the "approval process for all externally developed linear media stories for Destiny." The required skills mentioned experience in licensed products, animation, scripted TV development or current shows. In addition, the applicant is required to have a full understanding of Destiny and its world. This looks like another step towards cross-media projects at Bungie. In February this year, it was reported that Derick Tsai, the animation director of League of Legends, has joined Bungie as the development leader of the "Destiny Universe Transmedia". According to his LinkedIn profile, his responsibilities include "leading projects and telling stories that can expand the Destiny IP into new media formats such as film, television, animation, books, comics and audio." Bungie was recently acquired by Sony for $3.6 billion, and Sony's chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki also confirmed that Bungie is developing a new IP and the company plans to leverage Bungie's expertise in real-time services. |
