While The Flash may have won the 2022 fan-voted Oscar, Warner Bros. may be moving away from its leading man, Ezra Miller. Miller, who describes himself as binary and uses the pronouns they/them, was arrested on March 28 for assaulting a patron at a karaoke bar in Hawaii, USA. He was released on $500 bail, but received a temporary restraining order against him on March 29 from a local couple. The couple said Miller stormed into their bedroom and threatened to "bury" them both, and allegedly stole a passport and wallet. According to foreign media reports, on March 30 local time, Warner Bros. and DC executives held an emergency meeting to discuss Miller's future. The "Flash" movie starring him will be released in June 2023. In addition, Miller also starred in "Fantastic Beasts 3", which will be released in North America on April 15. Rolling Stone reports that a source familiar with the matter claims the consensus of the Warner Bros.-DC meeting was to "pause any future projects involving Miller, including cameos in the DC film universe." However, a source told foreign media IndieWire that no such meeting took place. Another insider noted to Rolling Stone that Miller was "frequently having mental breakdowns" while filming The Flash in 2021. Miller was apparently "out of control" on set, with the insider telling Rolling Stone, "He'd have a thought in his head and say, 'I don't know what I'm doing.'" |
