Bruce Willis announces retirement from acting at 67 due to aphasia

Due to health problems, 67-year-old Hollywood action star Bruce Willis announced his retirement from the film industry. His ex-wife and close friend Demi Moore announced the news on Instagram.

“To Bruce’s amazing supporters:

As a family, we want to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and was recently diagnosed with aphasia, which has affected his cognitive abilities. Therefore, after much consideration, Bruce will be retiring from the acting career that has meant so much to him .

"This is an extremely challenging time for our family and we are so grateful for everyone's continued love, compassion and support. We are getting through this as a strong family and want to involve his fans because we know how much he meant to you, just as you did to him."

As Bruce always said, 'Live it up,' and together we plan to do just that."

Bruce Willis became famous in the 1980s for starring in "Blind Date" and "Die Hard". In the 1990s, he starred in movies such as "Armageddon", "Pulp Fiction" and "The Sixth Sense".

Aphasia is a brain disorder that affects a person's ability to understand and recall written and spoken language, often caused by a brain tumor or trauma such as a stroke. Willis' family has not shared whether he has an underlying condition at this time.
