"Joker 2" flopped at both the box office and word of mouth, creating the lowest rating in the history of comic book-based movies

Joker 2: Double Delusion's North American box office debut was only $7 million, down nearly 50% from the $13.3 million of the first film. The North American box office for the first three days of the weekend is expected to be $50-65 million, far lower than the $96.2 million of the first film. According to media reports, the production cost of this film was $190 million, much higher than the previous one.

In terms of word of mouth, the film is currently performing poorly, with a Rotten Tomatoes rating of only 33% (255 reviews) and a popcorn index of 31%; an MTC score of 45 points and an audience score of 4.2 points; an IMDb score of 5.3/10; and a CinemaScore audience score of D, the lowest rating in the history of comic-based movies on the platform, lower than Sony's "Morbius" and "Mrs. Spider" (C+).

The film will be released in mainland China on October 16.
