Story and worldview

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is set in an ancient Arabian fantasy world. The protagonist, Aladdin, is a mysterious boy who can summon a blue spirit (Ugo) from a flute. He lives alone with Ugo in a sturdy underground room, and knows very little about himself, let alone the common sense of the world. At the request of his only friend, Ugo, he sets out on a journey to find the "Djinn's Metal Vessels." During the journey, he meets a boy named Alibaba, and together they conquer the seventh labyrinth, "Amon." Through conquering this labyrinth, Aladdin learns that he is a "Magi," the "selector of kings," and embarks on a further adventure.

The world of this work is set in a huge dungeon called the labyrinth, where a powerful jinn is sealed away. Anyone who conquers the labyrinth and obtains the jinn's powers will become a "vessel of kings" and qualify to rule the country. Aladdin and Alibaba will face various challenges and grow as they conquer the labyrinth.

character

There are many unique characters in "Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic." Below are the main characters.

Aladdin

A mysterious boy who can summon a blue spirit (Ugo) from a flute. He lives alone with Ugo in a sturdy underground room, and knows very little about himself, let alone the common sense of the world. At the request of his only friend Ugo, he sets out on a journey to find the "Djinn's Metal Vessel." He meets Alibaba, and together they conquer the seventh labyrinth, "Amon," where he learns that he is a "Magi," the "selector of kings." When he is transported from the labyrinth, he promises Alibaba that he will go on further adventures with him, but is sent alone to the plains where the Yellow Fang Clan live. However, through the events that occur there, Aladdin gradually begins to understand the mission of a "Magi."

Alibaba

A 17-year-old boy from the slums, working as a porter in Qishan. He plans to conquer the labyrinths in order to get his hands on "enough money to buy a country." In order to challenge the impregnable 7th labyrinth, "Amon," he invites Aladdin to join him in conquering the labyrinth, hoping to use the power of Aladdin's "metal vessel of the jinn." At first glance, he seems like a good-natured person, but that's just his way of getting along in life. He's a kind-hearted, courageous boy who will get angry, cry, and fight for "someone" with all his heart, even risking his life.

Morgiana

A 14-year-old girl from the Fanalis, a minority tribe of warriors on the Dark Continent. Suppressing her longing for home, she lives as a slave under Jamil, lord of Qishan. She has superhuman physical abilities, including strong legs that allow her to climb walls and a sense of smell that allows her to detect the body odor of people hiding. Although she is expressionless and unsociable, she is a strong-willed, kind, and considerate girl.

Judal

A boy with long black hair known as a "Magi." He has a somewhat malevolent aura about him. He appeared in the sky above Qi Shan together with the "Tutor Man" who provoked Jamil, and showed off his power that could affect the labyrinth. His true identity and purpose are currently a mystery.

Sinbad

The King of Sindria is loved by his people as a village chief. He conquered the first labyrinth, "Baal," at the age of 14, and has since conquered the seven seas and seven labyrinths, and has many "Djinn" under his command. He is respected by his subordinates, known as the "Eight Generals," but he has a bad habit of drinking, and often gets drunk and causes trouble for them, such as stealing "metal vessels."

Ja'far

One of the Eight Generals who pledges loyalty to Sinbad. He usually serves as a government official for the Kingdom of Sindria, but is troubled by non-political matters such as Sinbad's drinking habits and womanizing. He is usually gentle, but has a dual nature; he loses his temper and becomes murderous when Sinbad is insulted. He is a master of special assassination techniques.

Masrur

One of the Eight Generals who pledge their loyalty to Sinbad. Like Morgiana, he is a member of the Fanalis, a warrior race, and has superhuman physical abilities. When he met Sinbad, he was a young gladiator (a warrior in a combat sport) on the continent of Reim. He currently serves Sinbad as a martial arts practitioner, making use of his physical abilities rather than the sword. He is a man of few words, and rarely shows his emotions.
