"Saw 9" released two new stills: Tracking the mysterious serial killer

Lionsgate's new blockbuster reboot of Saw, Spiral: From the Book of Saw, released two new stills, starring Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nicole and others, searching for a serial killer with the "spiral" mark.

Samuel L. Jackson and others also starred in the film, which was directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of Saw 2, 3, and 4. Bousman told Empire magazine that he hoped the film would be like Seven, with the shadow of the Saw series legend, switching from thriller to horror. He also said that Locke, who has a comedy background, would bring some laughs to the film, and that violence and blood were no longer a gimmick in the film, but served the plot. The film focused more on "characters, tension, and fear."

"Saw 9: Death Whirlpool" was originally scheduled to be released in North America on May 15, 2020, but was later withdrawn due to the epidemic. The new release date has now been confirmed to be May 21, 2021.
