According to Screenrant, Disney has decided to remove a kissing scene from the upcoming live-action adaptation of "Mulan" after screening it in China. The original "Mulan" animation was released in 1998 and became a classic, and Disney's live-action adaptation uses Liu Yifei as the lead.

Like the animated film, the live-action version of Mulan also introduces Mulan's love story. In the preview, Disney originally added a kiss scene on a bridge between Mulan and Chen Honghui, played by An Youxin, but the censors raised objections. NiKi Caro, the director of Mulan, said: "It (the kiss scene) was beautifully arranged, but the local Disney executive said it was not okay, saying that it would disgust Chinese audiences, so we deleted it."
