According to Screenrant, Disney has decided to remove a kissing scene from the upcoming live-action adaptation of "Mulan" after screening it in China. The original "Mulan" animation was released in 1998 and became a classic, and Disney's live-action adaptation uses Liu Yifei as the lead. Like the animated film, the live-action version of Mulan also introduces Mulan's love story. In the preview, Disney originally added a kiss scene on a bridge between Mulan and Chen Honghui, played by An Youxin, but the censors raised objections. NiKi Caro, the director of Mulan, said: "It (the kiss scene) was beautifully arranged, but the local Disney executive said it was not okay, saying that it would disgust Chinese audiences, so we deleted it." The film "Mulan" is adapted from the Disney animation based on Chinese folklore. The first Chinese Disney princess in a live-action film wields a sword. It tells the story of Hua Mulan disguising herself as a man and joining the army in her father's place. She breaks the fate of being a "good wife" and is about to fight and face her true self. The film will be released in North America on March 27. In addition, HollywoodReporter confirmed that the film cost $200 million to produce, making it the most expensive live-action remake of a Disney animation so far (Editor's note: The new "Lion King," which cost $260 million, is not considered a "live-action movie"). |
