The story of the Snow Dragon will be adapted into a horror film by Hollywood, with Han Sanping as consultant

In 2013, a magical Chinese icebreaker successfully rescued 52 trapped foreign scientific researchers, which shocked the world. In 2014, it also actively joined the search for Malaysia Airlines MH370. This magical Chinese icebreaker, the Xuelong, is now going to be brought to the big screen by Hollywood, and it will be a horror film.

The film adaptation of the "Xuelong" story will be written by Todd Komarnicki, the screenwriter of "Sully", and produced by Erin Stewart, the producer of "Sully". On the Chinese side, Xinhua Film and Shunxi Media also joined the production, providing financial support for producers Erin Stewart and John Benitz. On the Xinhua Film side, Zhang Xiaohong will serve as producer, Gao Chengsheng will serve as co-producer, Han Sanping will serve as creative consultant, and screenwriter Todd Komarnicki will serve as executive producer.

The film will tell the true story of the Chinese icebreaker Xuelong during a scientific expedition. During another Antarctic expedition, the Xuelong heroically rescued a group of 74 foreigners, including Australians, British and Russians, on a stranded Russian ship.

The ship had become trapped in Antarctic ice. When the Xuelong received the distress call, it immediately changed course to power the trapped vessel through cyclonic winds and deadly winter conditions. In a race against time, the ship's crew risked their lives (as a fast-moving iceberg was on a collision course with the stranded ship) to save the group of trapped expatriates, aged between 12 and 78.
