The adventure film "The Meg" starring Jason Statham and Li Bingbing released two new posters today. In the poster, Jason, holding a spear gun, is chased by a prehistoric giant shark and escapes from the shark's mouth. The film is directed by Joe Dettuba, the director of "National Treasure", and will be released simultaneously in China and the United States on August 10. The protagonist of "The Meg" is a prehistoric giant beast that lives in an unknown deep sea world. When the megalodon invades the human living space, diving expert Jonas Taylor, played by Jason Statham, is ordered to dive into the deep sea with scientist Zhang Suyin, played by Li Bingbing, to resolve this catastrophe together. The film has been described as a "deep-sea version of Jurassic World". In response to this comparison, the director once said: "I also hope it is a deep-sea version of Jurassic, because Jurassic Park is very profitable! We have made such films for many years, such as King Kong. This is the magic of movies, showing the audience something they have never seen before, and we can also learn something from it." Statham described it as an "original popcorn movie. We want to elevate the ordinary action movie. It is very entertaining for the audience to see a small person like me fighting against such a huge existence." "The Meg" will be released in major theaters in China and around the world in 2D, 3D, IMAX, China Giant Screen 3D and other formats on August 10, 2018. |
