Director Gunn confirms: New Superman: Legacy movie not delayed due to strike

Director James Gunn recently confirmed that the new "Superman: Legacy", which represents the starting point of the new DC movie universe, is still scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025.

The director, who is currently in charge of DC Studios, reiterated the release date of the new Superman movie on Twitter, writing: "Thanks to the efforts of our talented crew, who never lost faith during the longest strike in Hollywood history, they never let up on the accelerator and kept going, creating the most amazing characters and set designs I have seen in my entire career. Superman: Legacy will be released on July 11, 2025 as originally planned."

Many other studios have already moved the release dates of their superhero movies. For example, Marvel just announced that Deadpool 3 and Captain America: Brave New World will be delayed to July 26, 2024 and February 14, 2025, respectively. In fact, Marvel will only release one movie in the entire next year.
