"Shazam!" Star: Stop watching trashy Hollywood movies

Actor Zachary Levi, who recently starred in the box office flop Shazam! 2: Wrath of the Titans, has spoken out about the "crap" Hollywood produces. He called on people to make better choices in entertainment to help turn things around.

"A lot of the content that I personally see coming out of Hollywood is garbage — they don't care enough to make it work for you guys," Levi said at the Chicago Fan Expo, according to Entertainment Weekly.

He continued: "How many times have you watched a trailer and thought, 'Oh my god, this looks so cool!', and then you actually go to the movie and are disappointed and think, 'This is what I got?'"

During his appearance at the Chicago Fan Expo, Levi also said that fans should push Hollywood executives to make different decisions by voting with their wallets, rather than watching "junk" content.

"They know that once you've bought your ticket and you're in your seat, they've already earned your money," he said. "The only way we can change things is not to throw away the trash, we have to actively not choose the trash. It will help. It will be very helpful."

Shazam 2 was a box office failure, with revenue of only $57 million in the United States. Levi has previously said that he does not understand the low reviews from critics. In his opinion, some critics were "extremely unkind" to the film. The audience rating of the film is relatively higher. On Rotten Tomatoes, the critics scored 49%, while the audience scored 86%.

He still thinks "Shazam 2" is a "good movie."
