Batman 2 postponed to October 2027

James Gunn, co-president of DC Films, said that the release of "Batman 2" has been postponed because the script has not been completed. It has now been changed to October 1, 2027, and production will begin in late summer 2025.

Director Gunn explained: "Matt Reeves (the new version of "Batman" director) is committed to making the best movie possible, and no one can accurately guess how long it will take to write the script."

Director Gunn said that once the script is completed, "Batman 2" may take two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production special effects production.

"The Batman" is scheduled to be released in March 2022, which means there will be more than five years between the release of the sequel.

"Batman" had a budget of $200 million and grossed $772 million worldwide.
