"The Wandering Earth 2" North American box office exceeded 5 million US dollars: the first Chinese-language film in the past four years

On January 22, the domestic science fiction film "The Wandering Earth 2" was released simultaneously in North America. Well Go USA was responsible for the distribution and the film was shown in more than 125 theaters, including 30 IMAX screens.

Recently, according to Well Go USA, "The Wandering Earth 2" is about to be completely closed in North American theaters. Its box office has exceeded 5 million US dollars, making it the box office champion of Chinese-language films released in North America in the past four years.

Data from Maoyan Professional Edition shows that the film’s box office in mainland China has exceeded 4.024 billion yuan and is still showing in theaters.

It is understood that this is not the first time that Well Go USA has brought domestic films to the North American market. It has previously introduced many domestic films such as "Ip Man 3", "Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World" and "Operation Red Sea".

It is worth mentioning that the official Weibo account of "The Wandering Earth Movie" also announced that "The Wandering Earth 2" will be released in South Korea in May. The first "The Wandering Earth" earned 147 million won at the South Korean box office.

The movie "The Wandering Earth 2" is directed by Guo Fan, produced by Liu Cixin, and starred by Wu Jing, Li Xuejian, Sha Yi, Ning Li, Wang Zhi, Zhu Yanmanzi, and a special performance by Andy Lau. Set against the backdrop of an era when plans were made to build 10,000 planetary engines, it tells the story of the impending "solar crisis", the world in danger, and the continuation of human civilization facing huge challenges.
