DCEU leader and DC Films President Walter Hamada has left Warner Bros. According to Deadline, the veteran DC producer had been with the company for 15 years. Hamada has been in charge of DC Films since 2018 and renewed his contract in 2021, with the contract expiring in 2023. However, according to Deadline sources, it seems that the new management of Warner Bros. wants to let him go faster. Considering that Warner Bros. has been openly looking for its own "Kevin Feige", it is only a matter of time before Hamada leaves. Deadline reports that Hamada himself has been looking forward to his exit for some time, his office has been packed up, and he has not participated in any recent DC creative meetings. It was previously reported that Hamada was not consulted on the cancellation of the DC film Batgirl - the film was originally scheduled to be released in theaters until the star and filmmakers were separated. Hamada himself was said to have learned of the film's cancellation during a test screening of Black Adam. Hamada was reportedly so angry that he almost resigned. Hamada is also the executive producer of the Black Adam movie, which recently received a 5-point rating from IGN. It is said that the Black Adam movie is expected to reach $135 million in its first week. |
