Tom Hanks may have amassed a sizable body of work over his decades-long Hollywood career: Philadelphia, Forrest Gump and Cast Away to name a few. But the actor recently revealed that he only considers four of those films to be "decent." The movie star, who has appeared in more than 50 films, shared this view in an interview with People for his new book, The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece. “Nobody knows how a movie is made — even though everybody thinks they do,” Hanks says of his novel, which focuses on filmmaking in the ’80s. “I’ve made a lot of movies, four of which I think are pretty good, and I’m still amazed at how movies are made. From the flash of an idea to the image on the screen, the whole process is a miracle.” Hanks may not have high reviews for his movies, but critics and fans have always loved the movies he's in. He's starred in two movies, Toy Story and Toy Story 2, which he voiced, and has a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with 10 other movies scoring above 90%. He's also appeared in classics like The Green Mile and A League of Their Own. Tom Hanks, who recently starred in Elvis and Pinocchio, is next in a feature film, A Man Called Otto Decides to Die, directed by Marc Forster and set to premiere on December 14. |
