The Hunger Games prequel movie confirms the heroine: "Snow White" Rachel

According to a recent report by Deadline, the leading actress of the prequel to the Hunger Games series, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, has been confirmed, with Rachel Zegler (Snow White, West Side Story) playing Lucy Gray Baird. The leading actor has also been confirmed, with Tom Blythe playing the young Snow.

"The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" is adapted from the new book of the same name by Suzanne Collins. It is set several years before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrant of Panem. The 18-year-old Snow is handsome and charming. Although his family is in a difficult situation, he sees an opportunity to change his destiny: he is chosen to be a mentor for the Tenth Hunger Games.

Snow is assigned to mentor Lucy Grey Baird, a girl from the impoverished 12th District, who sings provocatively at the harvesting ceremony, drawing everyone's attention. Snow thinks they can turn the tables in his favor, and the two unite their instinctive showmanship and newfound political skills in a race against time in a survival game to ultimately reveal who is the Songbird and who is the Snake.

Francis Lawrence, the director of the "Hunger Games" series, returns to direct the prequel. The latest version of the script was written by Michael Leslie and Michael Arndt participated in the creation. The film will be released in North America on November 17, 2023.
