The live-action Metal Gear Solid movie still has to wait for the director to make an animated series

Recently, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the director of the long-delayed "Metal Gear" live-action movie, accepted a talk show interview and talked about the "Metal Gear" movie. As revealed at the end of 2019, Jordan Vogt-Roberts said that the script of the "Metal Gear" movie has been completed, but unfortunately, Jordan Vogt-Roberts has not yet obtained the green light from the studio to actually start the production of this movie.

This also means that fans who want to watch the live-action "Metal Gear" movie may have to wait for a long time.

"I have been working on this project for 6 years. It is like my child. I want to create something subversive, with elements of punk rock, to truly restore the original style of Metal Gear and Mr. Hideo Kojima. I will continue to work hard for this goal." Jordan Vogt-Roberts said in an interview, "In Hollywood, it is not an easy thing to make a movie. And to make a work like Metal Gear... it is more complicated, so the difficulty will increase. So I need to make a good budget in advance to facilitate doing some crazy things later, so that my plan to create an authentic Metal Gear will not be abandoned halfway."

Jordan Vogt-Roberts said he also hopes to start filming the film, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and some other reasons, the schedule of the entire project is now a bit chaotic.

"I thought we would be able to start filming the movie a year ago, but now there are a lot of things... The new crown epidemic has disrupted everything, and we are making new arrangements for everything. I don’t know exactly when, but I will keep working on it."

Jordan Vogt-Roberts said that he already has a specific idea for the actor who will play Snake, but did not reveal more. In addition to the movie, he also hopes to create a Metal Gear animation series and plans to invite Snake's voice actor David Hayter to participate.
