Sony will continue to develop Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the screenwriter has returned to the sequel

Although Sony has parted ways with Marvel over copyright and dividends, it has not stopped developing Spider-Man independently. Recently, there is news that Sony has invited Chris McKenna and Eric Summers, the screenwriters who wrote Spider-Man: Far From Home, to return to the crew and write the script for the third Spider-Man.

This is good news for fans. After all, Spider-Man: Far From Home is Sony's most profitable movie, with a global box office of over $1.1 billion. Bringing the screenwriter of the previous film back to the crew is the safest way to develop a sequel. Although the screenwriter has returned, it is still unknown whether director Joe Watts will return.

Previously, according to foreign media reports, the breakdown of negotiations between Sony and Marvel led to a large number of fans protesting against Disney and Sony. Some people suspected that Disney might be the culprit behind Spider-Man's withdrawal from Marvel and the subsequent collapse. In addition, according to "Deadline", although Sony was unwilling to "split the profits 50-50" with Disney, which owns Marvel, it also proposed several alternative plans, and was obviously still willing to make concessions. Therefore, the main reason for the breakdown may not be entirely Sony.

Currently, Sony is working hard to expand the entire Spider-Man universe. In addition to the "Sinister Six" under preparation, the filming of "Venom 2" is now on track.

The Sinister Six is a team of super villains in the American Marvel Comics. Originally, it was a team composed of Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Electro, and Sandman that Doctor Octopus called upon to deal with Spider-Man. Later, it became an organization to fight against the Avengers and expanded to seven or twelve people.

The sequel to Venom is expected to start filming later this year. The villain of the film, if nothing unexpected happens, will be "Carnage" who appears in the post-credits scene. As one of the most powerful symbiotes, Venom has never defeated Carnage by himself, so Sony will arrange a helper for Venom. There are currently two candidates for Venom's teammates, one of whom is Spider-Man.
