In the framework of the novel, Doctor Sleep is actually a sequel to the famous horror novel The Shining. The film The Shining, directed by Stanley Kubrick, is an unsurpassed classic in horror films. The original novel was written and published by Stephen King in 1977. In the story, Stephen King takes us into a thrilling and terrifying world. The so-called "Shining" in the book refers to a special ability of predictive perception, and the little boy Danny in the book has this ability.

Due to his father's job as a mountain guard, Danny followed his father Jack Torrance and his mother Wendy to the Overlook Hotel in the mountains in winter. However, the eerie and mysterious atmosphere here led Danny's family to the brink of death. Jack was bewitched by the ghosts in the hotel and wanted to kill his wife and children. He eventually froze to death in the garden maze. Danny and Wendy escaped by chance. This book was adapted into a movie and released in the United States in 1980.

The Shining poster

The fear brought by "The Shining" is still fresh in the minds of many readers. In 2013, Stephen King wrote "Doctor Sleep". In the new book, the little boy Danny has entered middle age. His terrible childhood in the Overlook Hotel has made him wander for decades. He desperately tries to get rid of the shadow of alcoholism, violence and despair left by his father, and finally settles in New Hampshire.

There, he became a "sleep doctor" and met Abra Stone, a girl who also had the "Shining". The girl's pure Shining touched Danny. In order to protect the girl, Danny started a battle between good and evil with the evil tribe. Currently, the actors involved in the filming of this film include Rebecca Ferguson and Ewan McGregor.

The director of this film is Mike Flanagan. As a director who only shoots horror films, Mike Flanagan has shot horror films such as "The Blind Side", "Dead Divination 2", "Silent Night" and "Before I Wake Up" as an all-round director and editor. He is considered an expert in this field.

According to the plan, the film will be released on November 8.
