At Project Anime, a large anime convention in Los Angeles, Elie Dekel, executive vice president of brand development and consumer products at Legendary Entertainment, announced that the first season of the Pacific Rim animated series will be broadcast on Netflix in 2020, confirming that there will be two seasons in total. The Pacific Rim animated series will be produced by Legendary and Tokyo Polygon Films. Dekel said, "This is one of our highest-budget animated series that I'm very happy to be involved in, and I think it represents the commitment of Legendary and Netflix to animation." The Pacific Rim animated series will tell the story of two siblings piloting an abandoned mech to search for their missing parents. Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution) will be the planners of the Pacific Rim animated series. The "Pacific Rim" animation is currently just one of the five new animation series that Netflix is creating. Other works include the "Altered Carbon" animation. |
