Liu Cixin's sci-fi film "The Last Days" has been approved and has begun production

According to China Film News, Wentou Holdings held a film and television strategy conference in Shanghai on the 16th, releasing more than ten film and television entertainment projects and announcing a plan for 100 directors. Among them, a science fiction film "Rescue" by Liu Cixin, who did not create a novel, was among the projects released by Wentou Holdings. The film, starring Nick Cheung and Hu Jun, has entered the production stage.

According to the film's director Shen Yue, "The Last Days Rescue," the first science fiction film created without a novel by "Chinese science fiction leader" Liu Cixin, has entered the production stage after 10 years of polishing. The script of "The Last Days Rescue" was written before the novel "The Three-Body Problem" and is the cornerstone of Liu Cixin's science fiction system.

Starring Nick Cheung and Hu Jun attended the press conference of Wentou Holdings' film and television strategy as "special promoters" of "Rescue". In order to ensure the quality of the film, the film producers specially hired Zhu Jin, director of the Beijing Planetarium, as the chief scientific consultant of the film "Rescue". Liu Cixin, who was unable to arrive at the scene due to work reasons, expressed his expectations for the film "Rescue" through a video: "I hope it can reach a new height for Chinese science fiction films."
